Mei Lookdev - Love, Death and Robots 'The Screaming of the Tyrannosaur'

I’m incredibly grateful to finally share my work on the episode “The Screaming of the Tyrannosaur” from Volume 4 of Love, Death & Robots on Netflix.
I had the privilege of leading the look development for the main character, Mei. Bringing Mei to life was truly a team effort, and I want to highlight some of the amazing artists I was fortunate to work with:
- Amy Ash, who created an outstanding model for Mei and sculpted a range of concept explorations to help define her direction.
- Hamish Mitchell, who put in tremendous work on Mei’s groom and developed the sand setup covering her in the final shots.
A huge thank you to our entire character team, who poured countless hours and talent into making these characters and props feel alive, and to our fantastic Art Director, Jake Gumbleton, and CG Supervisor, Paul Rowley, for their guidance throughout the project.
If you haven’t seen the episode yet, I highly encourage you to do so - it’s the result of many talented people pushing their craft even further.
Finally, thank you to the Blur team for finishing the episode, and to everyone at Axis who made this project such a meaningful experience. It truly means a lot to all of us who were part of this journey.
